Help get these 13 & 14 year olds to Basketball National Champs

The Under 15A side is made up of 13 and 14 year old West Auckland boys. It is a representative side under the banner of WWABi. They are the second team that WWABi fields in the Under 15 division.

The WWABi Under 15 Premier Side are one of the favourites to win the National Championships and were always expected to qualify in the top 5 of the northern region. They have been fundraising and planning for the Nationals for 6 months.

The Under 15A team had a goal of playing for the 5th spot in the regional qualifiers after being the best second team in the Auckland Super City tournament beating a Strong Harbour B team by 2 points in overtime - coming from 11 behind in the last quarter.

In Regional Qualifiers they once again faced Harbour B in a pool game that would grant the winner automatic qualification by placing them in the top four. Once again the boys had to overcome a deficit in the 4th quarter - this time 14 points. Once again they sent the game to overtime and ended up winning 105 - 101.

Our two WWABI teams finished the Northern Regional U15 Qualification Tournament in first and fourth.

The courage, determination and never give up attitude of these boys is amazing. Everyone expected the Premier side to qualify. No one picked the A team to make the cut. But they did - qualifying as the fourth of five teams from the Northern Region.

So we have under a month until the tournament in Wellington. Not many days to make sure that every boy can go. For these families an extra $1000 to attend Nationals is something they had not planned for. These boy's families have given a lot to get them this far and we want to give all of them the opportunity to attend Nationals - we don't want to leave anyone behind.
