Help develop a NZ marine species sightings app, so that our taonga species are better protected!

Imagine if all New Zealanders were able to easily report marine wildlife sightings on an app, just like how we can report earthquakes.

This would drastically improve marine conservation in New Zealand, allowing for more accurate insights into where species are, if populations are increasing or decreasing and the threats they might be facing.

We’d even have far more powerful data to support our efforts lobbying the Government to act on pressing environmental issues. Our wildlife would be better off all-around.

With your generosity and in collaboration with Māui63, WWF is urgently trying to make this app a reality and ensure it's in the hands of New Zealanders - ready to make a difference for our precious marine taonga.

Use of funds

All donations will help develop a marine species sightings app, in collaboration with Māui63. In the event that we exceed our target, WWF will use any additional funds to support our other work restoring and protecting Aotearoa's wildlife and nature.
