Little Brinks - Helping those who cannot help themselves

Little Brinks started in 2008 in Cape Town, South Africa when we saw the need for someone to step in and try to make the lives of children a little bit better, after seeing how many of them go to bed hungry or are hurt and neglected. We believe each and every child deserves to have a meal and be loved. Saying that, we need help to do this and rely almost completely on donations from the public.

Kath & Danny do what 99% of us would call the unthinkable! Often they are called out in the middle of the night going into settlements ('houses made of tin/wood shacks - probably the size of our bathrooms) often very unsafe environments to lend a helping hand. By a helping hand I mean often taking in babies/kids who have been abused, abandoned and sometimes horrific situations that are unimaginable to us.

They are absolute heros and have a never ending road ahead as unfortunately there will always be people affected by drugs & alcohol who are uneducated or selfish individuals who look at their kids as a burden. Kath & Danny take these kids into their own home where they live with their own 5 adopted children, feed them, bath them, clothe them and most importantly show them that they are loved & wanted by someone.

They have taken in 13 year old rape victims with newborn babies, 8 year olds who have never had a shower or a bath before (covered in lice, scabies etc), siblings where the 7yr old has been left to care for her 3yr old brother for DAYS by themselves with no food - nothing!

The list is endless & will continue to be endless - It breaks my heart & I am trying to do something to help.
