Completing the interior fit-out of the Lyall Bay Surf Life Saving clubhouse
Wellington
Lyall Bay Surf Life Saving Club is New Zealand’s oldest surf life saving club. We need your help to complete our clubhouse on Lyall Bay beach so our volunteer lifeguards have access to basic facilities as they protect the thousands of Wellingtonians who use the beach and the bay.
Last season our 60 lifeguards patrolled Lyall Bay for over 2,804 hours, rescued 2 people, assisted 15 people to safety, provided first aid to 11 people, completed 6 searches, completed over 300 preventative actions and helped run a surf programme on Sundays for approximately 100 kids (our future lifeguards).
You may have seen us starting to use our wonderful tiled clubhouse even though the interior fit-out is incomplete. We need to raise $37,000 to finish building changing rooms, toilets and showers - all of which are essential facilities for an active surf life saving club.
Thank you for any donation you make to help us cover this shortfall.
Lyall Bay Surf Life Saving Club has been providing lifesaving activities since 1910.
Fundraising for completing changing rooms, toilets and showers. Any surplus will be used to help complete the building.
