We are a non-profit non judgmental Facebook community in Hawkes Bay with 11,000+ current members, and everyone in https://www.facebook.com/groups/youmademydayhawkesbay/ is our YMMD Family.

We work behind the scenes to get help to people in need, whether this be financially or guiding people in the right direction of where to get long term help, empowering them.

We have used our own money to help families in Hawkes Bay with food, have petrol to get to work, have sanitary items, essentials for their home and more. We have assisted people to find work, get temporary transitional accommodation, find furnishings for emergency housing and for people moving into a home from transitional housing. We provide emergency food parcels because we cannot bear the thought of anyone going hungry or without essentials.

Our community generously also rallies around us in times of need. We have a list of resources we use daily but often the requests we get for help are people reaching their last resort, on a Friday night, or the weekend. This is because often people are too proud to ask, until there is nowhere left to turn. Reaching out is hard. If people are in need of absolutely anything they know they are able to contact us privately and we can help.
