Raising Funds for my younger sister and her family after the HB floods caused by Cyclone Gabrielle.
Puketapu, Hawke's Bay
My name is Jenny and I am writing on behalf of my younger sister, Hannah, her partner Corbin, and her two young children, Arthur and Teddy who are 3 years old and 9 months old. Recently, they lost everything in the devastating Hawke's Bay flooding caused by Cyclone Gabrielle. Their home was flooded and like many other families in Puketapu, they were stranded on their rooftop for over six hours and eventually no cell coverage. Although they were fortunate to be rescued once the water levels dropped, the experience was traumatic and has left them with nothing.
As you can imagine, starting again is overwhelming for Hannah and their family. The long list of things they need to replace is daunting and will take time and money. We understand they have some insurance, but It's only going to be a small help compared to what they've lost.
That's why we're reaching out to you for help. We hope to raise enough funds to make a small dent in their recovery efforts and to provide them with some sense of normalcy again.
Hannah and Corbin are amazing parents who stayed strong for their children during a confusing and scary time. We are very grateful to their neighbours for rescuing them and giving them a roof over their head.
Please consider donating to this young family to help them recover and start again. Any amount, no matter how small, will make a difference. Our hearts go out to all those who have been affected by the cyclone.
Thank you for your generosity and kindness.
Im Hannah's older sister.
