Kendall's Melanoma Battle - Fighting for her family
Christchurch, Canterbury
My older beautiful sister, Kendall, has been diagnosed with incurable Stage 4 melanoma cancer in January / February 2023.
She is 33 years old and has an incredible husband John-Henry. Together they have 2 beautiful children a 7 years old and a 3 year old. Kendall also has a 18 year old stepson.
I want to help ease the financial burden and stress by helping cover expenses as she is not working so she can focus on getting better.
In March 2023 she started on funded immunotherapy. It had been reducing the cancer spots across her body.
In July 2023 Kendall underwent brain surgery to remove two bleeding melanoma tumours that were causing her to see double vision and made her nauseous.
The funded immunotherapy treatment was stopped in March 2024 due to growth of cancer spots in her brain.
As at April 2024 was told she has months to live and because of this she stopped working. Kendall started taking unfunded medications. These medications won’t cure her - but they will prolong her life. We don’t know how long for. Hoping it’s a long period of time and continues to smash it!
As at 1st June 2025 the NZ Government has approved Pharmac funding for my medications to become fully funded. Yes! Wahoo.
Any donation, big or small is very appreciated. Thank you from all of our family x
Kendall is my beautiful big sister ❤️
Now that the treatment has become funded any funds going forward will now be used for everyday expenses as I am not working and continue with my recovery
