I’ve been called up to the Ice Fernz! Help me get to the World Champs in Hong Kong and represent Aotearoa with pride.

My name is Indie Lewis, I’m 18 and in my second year of a conjoint Law and Māori Studies degree at the University of Otago.
Ice hockey has been my passion for the past 10 years. I’ve spent thousands of hours playing, coaching, officiating, and mentoring young athletes. Giving back to the hockey community is something I’m really proud of, I love helping youth players build confidence, develop skills, and find the same sense of belonging that hockey has given me. Officiating is also how I fund my own hockey, with every dollar going straight into training, equipment, and ice time.
4th Feb, I received a late call‑up to represent New Zealand at the IIHF Division IIB Women’s World Championships in Hong Kong this March. Wearing the Ice Fernz jersey has been my dream since I first stepped onto the ice at eight years old, and I’m determined to represent Aotearoa with pride.
Like most international women’s sport in NZ, this opportunity is self‑funded. I need to raise $3200 to cover travel, accommodation, and tournament costs, an amount that isn’t achievable for me or my family at such short notice.
This is why I’m reaching out for support. Any contribution, big or small, would directly help me get to Hong Kong. I will proudly acknowledge supporters through social media and any other ways that may help your organisation.
Supporting me means backing a young woman chasing her dream, representing her country, and continuing to mentor the next generation of players.
