Toby has been selected to represent the New Zealand Black Gloves at the World Youth Muay Thai Championships
Palmerston North, Manawatu-Wanganui
Toby is one in million!! A teenager that talks, is always keen to learn, takes on advice and build on his skills in and out of the ring, is never afraid to ask for guidance and then offers back what he learns by helping out the generation following behind. Toby is a true asset to our The Fight Shop NZ family, dedicated to his own training, as well as to others in the team who have upcoming bouts. A leader in the making!
It hasn't been an easy road to be selected to for the New Zealand team. Toby has had to prove himself as he hasn’t had the opponents in his weight class or age category for fight experience, but with his shear grit, determination, high work ethic and consistency, Toby has not only proven to the New Zealand selectors, but to himself he deserves his spot in the New Zealand Black Gloves team, representing New Zealand at the IFMA Youth Muay Thai World Championships in Thailand, the home of Muay Thai, in September.
As you can imagine, with all sporting codes and world championships, there is always a financial cost on families, including; national training camps, team uniforms, international travel cost, sanctioning fees, accommodation and travel to get to other national events to continue to gain experience. While Toby continues to train consistently towards the world championships and achieves many goals and expectations along the way, we ask if you are able to, to help him meet his financial costs of the journey by making a donation towards this cause
Both myself and my husband have coached/trained Toby since he was 6years old in both Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Kim is Toby’s mum
