4 week volunteer project in Zambia, Africa. Nursing in local medical clinics where local people are unable to pay for medical care
Canterbury
I'm Caitlin and I work as a registered nurse at Christchurch hospital. In June I am heading to a town called Livingstone in Zambia, Africa where I will be doing volunteer work in a local medical clinic for one month. Livingstone has a population of just under 137,000 people, many of whom live in poor communities and cannot afford or easily access healthcare. They largely rely on volunteers to provide services and resources to ensure local people get the care and education that they need, so I am joining a team to hopefully make a difference and improve quality of life for some that live a little tougher.
Over the next few months I am hoping to raise as much as I can to put into the communities I will be working in. Zambia, rated one of the poorest countries in the world, has many orphanages, schools, medical centres and other facilities relying on donations which I want to help by raising money. If you are willing to donate just a small amount this would be hugely appreciated, and will go a long way in helping me to make a difference.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my page and thanks in advance to everyone who donates, it means a lot.
Providing medical care and assisting local doctors in procedures and treatments. Basic cares for unwell local people who would otherwise struggle to access healthcare and education
