Zen wallis is off to the World Surfing Championships and needs our support

Auckland

Dear friends and surf enthusiasts

We have an exciting opportunity to support a talented surfer and coach Zen Wallis of Piha beach, New Zealand. Zen has been selected to represent New Zealand in the Open Men's Longboard competition in El Salvador. Not only is he a skilled athlete, but he is also the coach and manager of the New Zealand team.

Unfortunately, Piha surf school has been severely impacted by Hurricane Gabrielle, and Zen's business has suffered from the inability to offer surfing lessons over the last few months. This makes it even more crucial for us to come together as a community to support Zen's journey to El Salvador.

By donating to Zen's fundraising campaign, you will be contributing to his travel expenses, accommodation, and competition fees. Your support will also help relieve any unforeseen challenging circumstances if they arise during the teams travels.

Let's rally behind Zen and show our support for him as he represents New Zealand on the world stage. Every little bit helps, so please give what you can and share this post with your friends and family

Thank you for your generosity and support!

Sincerely Christina from Lion Rock boardriders Club

2023 World Longboard Champs - Final Update  16 May 2023

While I didn't get a result and the NZ Team's 17th was not what we were aiming for, there were so many positives. The waves were epic and the event was a lifetime experience. I really do want to thank all of you who donated and backed me to do this. It never feels good if you don't make it to Finals day, but my result has earned me the chance to represent NZ in August at the 2023 ANOC World Beach Games in Bali. It's an exciting 14-discipline event that I may not have considered without all your support and aroha to get me to El Salvador.

Endless gratitude to you all. Ka nui te mihi.

Zen.
