The original Hall entry porch, these days the fire exit is now complete with the restored stained glass window and replica doors. All the new timber has now been painted to match the old. There is more work that needs doing on the Hall windows. A piece of stained glass has been found to replace the broken pane and the other windows need attention but the Hall is now fully functional.
The new flooring is down and the painting all but complete, thanks to a small team of volunteers. Just the furnishing and repainted of the inside door to go.
The current phase of building is nearly done with exterior painting of the new wood being finished and the interior work in the basement, with the exception of the floor now to the painting and decorating stage. The interior work will be done by volunteers. Next part to be worked on will be church piles and north wall along with the guttering.
After a set back with some flooding cause by a blocked stormwater drain and a weather event in July a working bee was held to chip up the old "liquid lino" floor which had lost it's grip where the concrete had gotten damp. The walls have now been lined and plastered ready for architraves.
The scaffolding is now down and painted is well under way. Notice the new windows in the toilet block. The northern end of the Upper room has new weather boards too. Still a lot of interior work to do.
The windows are now in the process of being installed. Along with the replacement doors. The window moldings have been made and will re-instated soon.
The new steel beam to support the original chapel (upper room) has been installed and signed off by the engineer.
