I intend to complete a 100 hour, zero calorie fast, raising money for GiveWell‘s most cost-effective global health and poverty charities

International

I intend to complete a 100 hour-zero calorie fast next week. I thought I would roll back the years by asking for sponsorship by the hour for every hour completed. Just like we used to do with the 40 hour famine - just for 2.5x longer and without the barley sugars! A 10 cents per hour pledge would be $10. All pledges & proceeds to the Effective Altruism NZ Charitable Trust. EANZCT have partnered with some of GiveWell‘s most highly recommended and cost-effective global health and poverty charities. I'm doing this for three reasons: 1) for my own health ; 2) to raise awareness of short term nutrient restriction as a tool for long term metabolic health; and 3) to raise awareness of Givewell and the effective altruism movement. I intend to work and exercise as normal throughout the fast. Feel free to join me for a day or two if you want to give fasting a go. I wont promise it will be fun, but I promise it is 100% doable for 95% of you (please have a chat to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns). Bring on the autophagy!
