Completing 1000kms for Kieran - raising funds for mental health
Hamilton, Waikato
I’m challenging myself to complete 1000km in a year - running and walking. I hope to be able to push myself physically, work on my own mental health, get the conversation going around suicide and hopefully raise some funds and awareness about mental health along the way. I lost my baby brother Kieran to suicide in 2019 and this is a way to both honour him and raise critical funds for Gumboot Friday providing mental health services to our young people.
Thank you! 26 June 2022
Thank you so much for the support and donations so far - and all the lovely messages! Less than a week to go until the challenge starts. All funds go directly to Gumboot Friday and I am Hope funding counselling sessions and mental health support for our young people - hopefully to give them the skills and help they need so families don’t have to go through what mine has been through. Feel free to set me a challenge to do! Looking forward to getting stuck in.
