Dunedin, Otago

This page has been set up for Age Concern Otago who spoke at our 20 May 2026 meeting. Age Concern Otago were one of the two runner up charities so will receive a minimum of $200 towards their cause. If you connected with their presentation then please feel free to donate generously.

How it works:

Every quarter, members and supporters donate $100 at a fast-paced, one-hour event. Three charities each speak for seven minutes, followed by a short Q&A. Attendees then vote, and the charity with the most votes receives the full combined donation. The two remaining charities each receive $200 as a thank you for taking part.

You don’t need to be a member or attend the meeting to donate. Anyone is welcome to contribute and be part of the impact.

About 100+ People Who Care | Dunedin:

Members pledge four donations of $100 per year, totaling $400 annually. It’s a simple model that creates immediate, high-impact giving within our Ōtepoti community.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
