Age Concern Otago continues to build towards an inclusive and safe society for the future older generations. Helps us to help others
How do you see the future for older people in Otago?
Age Concern Otago operates in an environment of increasing demand as people age.
Age Concern Otago's main funding is from membership and community grants, therefore we rely on donations to enable us to provide information, services, support and programmes to 10,000 older Otago residents per year. We receive only partial funding for our Elder Abuse Response Services of $110,000 from central Government. We rely primarily on the generosity of the community, which supports our work and we are deeply indebted to the efforts of 986 plus Volunteers who without their support we could not function.

Have you ever considered leaving Age Concern Otago a donation? Donations can enable us a lasting legacy to continue to build towards an inclusive and safe society for future generations.
More about us
Age Concern Otago began as a community based organisation founded in 1948 by the then Mayor of Dunedin and a number of public spirited people to promote the wellbeing and to serve the needs of older people in Otago.
Today, Age Concern Otago has grown into a substantial independent charitable organisation, valued and respected for its dedication and services to older people. Age Concern Otago now has the wider purpose of promoting healthy, active and positive ageing for people over 65. Age Concern Otago is recognised locally as a principal not for profit community organisation celebrating and advancing the wellbeing of Otago’s older people.
