Walking 100km with my 15 year old son, in honour of my dad.
Wellington
Three years ago I walked 100km for my mum and to raise money for Alzheimer's. Last year she passed away from this awful illness and it spurred me to think of supporting another charity and completing another personal challenge.
I loved training and completing the 100km (no really!), so decided to do it again, this time to support cancer research, another cracking illness that my father died from over 27 years ago now.
This time is a bit different though. I'll be joined by my 15 year old son, Daan, who thinks 100km will be a breeze :-)
We're planning on setting out from Eastbourne late on Friday the 1st Feb, following the Hutt River north, climbing to the top of the Rimutaka Incline, turning round and finishing somewhere around around Avalon. Please drop me a line if you'd like to walk a section with us - this will help us out a lot!

My father died of cancer a number of years ago and my son and I want to raise money for cancer research to reduce the impact it has on so many of our lives.
