10kms for Ben May 💜

$2,548 donated
Given by 43 generous donors in 8 weeks

Honouring Ben by continuing his plans. Raising awareness and funds for his chosen charity, Epilepsy New Zealand.

International

Before Ben’s tragic death, he had been planning a campaign. A strong advocate for epilepsy, Ben wanted to raise awareness of the condition and funds for a charity close to him, Epilepsy New Zealand.

Honouring his legacy and the plans he had started, Ben’s family and closest friends decided that💜 Purple Day - World Epilepsy Awareness Day (or the Saturday nearest to it) would be dedicated to Ben and his campaign.

Our #10kmsforbenmay event asks that everyone who wants to be involved to:

Walk/run/swim/skip/bike 10km.

Post a photo of their challenge on our #10kmsforbenmay Instagram or Facebook pages.

Donate anything you can spare to Epilepsy New Zealand.

This year, our event is being held on 💜Saturday, 28th March 2026. 💜

You can join in and complete your 10 km from anywhere in the world!

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
