Join us as we run 126.6km to raise awareness and support for victims of Domestic Violence Against Women & Children.

On the 16th and 17th of November a group of fit individuals are going to run 126.6km to raise money and awareness to stop Domestic Violence Towards Women & Children. This event is going to start in Rolleston Christchurch, and we will be running along the shoulder of State Highway 1, all the way to Ashburton. We will stay the night in Ashburton and the following day we will then run back along State Highway 1, to Rolleston. For a total of 126.6kms.

Facts about Domestic Violence Towards Women & Children!
> On average Women’s Refuge answers 71 crisis calls per day
> Nearly half of all homicides and reported violent crimes are related to family violence.
> 1 in 3 women will experience abuse in their lifetime in Aotearoa.
> New Zealand has the highest rates of family violence in the OECD
> Around 67% of family violence episodes go unreported.
By donating and raising awareness you can be helping and supporting Women’s Refuge advocates help across a wide spectrum, ranging from help accessing healthcare and counselling, support with MSD and budgeting advice, obtaining a protection order and legal assistance, finding a place to live, helping to fund activities for tamariki and establishing relationships with schools and teachers, even meeting basic needs like food, clothing, and much more.
