Fundraising for I Am Hope Foundation

Auckland

In early 2024, I discovered a deep love for ultramarathon running after challenging myself to run 100 kilometers—a milestone I never thought I could achieve. This newfound passion pushed me to embrace challenges that test both the limits of physical endurance and mental resilience.

Last year, I competed in the Southern Sydney 24-Hour Ultra, an experience that shaped my perspective on what the human body and spirit are capable of. Since then, I’ve been eager to push myself further under similar grueling conditions.

This February, I’m embarking on a unique challenge: running for 24 hours straight around a 600-meter block near my home in Sydney. But this run isn’t just about personal growth—it’s about giving back. I’m raising $2,400 for I Am Hope, a New Zealand charity doing incredible work to break the stigma surrounding youth mental health. They provide free access to counseling for young people and foster positive conversations about mental health—a mission that deeply resonates with me.

Having benefited from free access to mental health and wellness resources throughout my life, I know how life-changing support can be. That’s why I’m calling on you to help make a difference.

Every donation counts, no matter how small. If you’re unable to donate, sharing the fundraiser with your network would mean the world to me. Together, we can help ensure more young people get the support they need when they need it most.

Let’s run toward a brighter future—one step, one lap, one day at a time.

Update: 24-Hour Block Run for Youth Mental Health – Thank You!  17 February 2025

Wow—what an incredible journey this has been! My 24-hour block run is officially done, and together we raised $2,325 for I AM HOPE!

I just wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU to everyone who donated, shared, and supported me throughout this challenge. Your generosity and encouragement made every step (and there were a lot of them!) so much more meaningful.

While I didn’t quite hit my initial $2,400 goal, what we did achieve will make a real impact—helping provide free mental health support to young people who need it most. That’s something truly special.

The run itself was an absolute test of endurance—mentally and physically—but knowing that so many people believed in this cause kept me going through the toughest moments - and there were a lot of them!

Whether you donated, shared the page, sent messages of encouragement, or followed along—this was our effort, and I couldn’t have done it without you.

Much love and appreciation,

Dylan
