Completing a 24 hour walk to raise money for St John and the Heart Foundation

Christchurch, Canterbury

Hi all,

22 months ago I had a heart attack and because of this I needed a triple bypass. I am happy to report I have fully recovered and through inspiration of a locker-room buddy (who completed a 100 mile run/117,000 steps). So now I want to see how many steps I can complete in 24 hours and thought this would be a great way to give back to St John and the Heart foundation. I am dedicating this walk and the funds raised to them and all the hard work they did for me and for so many others like myself.

The 24 hour walk will take place during the week of 22nd of September (exact date is dependant on the weather forecast)

Every donation, big or small, adds up and I will be matching all donations made by you dollar-for-dollar up to a capped total of $1000, so therefore I have set a goal for myself to raise $2000 in total.

Thank you for your support!

Cheers,

Mike

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
