The Heart Foundation is New Zealand’s heart charity, leading the fight against our country’s single biggest killer – heart disease. We provide nationwide programmes, support, and resources to individuals and families in every community across New Zealand. As a registered charity, we rely on the generosity of people throughout New Zealand to support our vital work.

Supported by our generous donors, we fund approximately $4 million in research each year. Beyond the lab, we deliver heart disease education and prevention programmes, provide support to those living with heart conditions, collaborate with the food industry to improve the diets of New Zealanders, and equip health professionals with the resources they need. We also advocate for policies that create a healthier New Zealand for everyone.

On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
