Raising funds for Sustainable Coastlines by enduring one of the least sensible challenges in the world
Auckland
This August, during India's monsoon season, we'll attempt to race a rickshaw *glorified lawnmower* from the starting line in Jaisalmer (right up in the very top of India) to the finish line in Cochin (concerningly close to the bottom) against other teams from across the world.
We have no route, no backup, no mechanical knowledge, no plan and no idea what we've let ourselves in for. Nonetheless, throughout our journey we hope to raise funds and awareness for an amazing NZ cause (and make this ridiculous feat worth every terrifying, imodium-popping minute).
Our Notorious dream team consists of 3 kiwi wahine - Georgia 'Grand prix Guru’ Wetzell, Kate 'Keen on Kurry’ Hood & Alex 'Aggressive Accelerator Accident waiting to happen' Gardner.
Sustainable coastlines is an orgnisation that set out to sustain and protect our coastlines. So if you like hanging ten, long walks on the beach and just getting amongst the coastal environment you should be investing in this worthy cause. They put effort into not only cleaning up our oceans and beaches but planting trees, litter collection and raising awareness of issues that affect the environment and how people can help to make a difference. To date they have removed 1,347,538 litres of trash from our beaches and planted 60,898 trees to help clean up our rivers and streams which flow straight out to our oceans.
What is even more terrifying than driving a three-wheeled rickshaw down the length of India is the high forecast of Delhi Belly whilst driving a three-wheeled rickshaw down the length of India. So please please, if you can spare anything at all, or a lot! Support us on this crazy adventure by donating to this incredible cause.
