Fundraising for The Little Miracles Trust
Paraparaumu Beach, Paraparaumu
This November, I’ll be running 300km to raise awareness and support for families with babies born prematurely or with serious health challenges.
My triplets were born at 30 weeks on 3 May 2024 weighing 1.2kg, 1.250kg and 1.4kg and we spent 90 days in hospital with them at the Neonatal Intensive Unit (NICU) in Wellington.
It's hard to explain how traumatic this experience truly is. For 3 weeks the triplets were hooked up to machines which kept them alive and breathing. The amount of fear and anxiety about their survival during this time is so overwhelming that it is extremely hard to process. However, my experience is not unique. I was surrounded by many parents at the time going through the exact same feelings and emotions, and of course there will be more to come unfortunately.
The Little Miracles trust and their staff provided comfort, support and a familiar face in a extremely clinical and intense environment. Not only that but they provided us and other families with lunches and dinners throughout the week as well as care packages throughout the journey.
This is only one small part of what the trust does, they also provide vital equipment and funding for NICUs as well as fund groundbreaking neonatal research.
I understand times are tough for everyone but even the smallest amount can make a huge impact, so any donation would be greatly appreciated to support such a worthy Trust and cause.
