I'm going the distance so LandSAR can go the distance for other families.

3 years ago my brother Richard went missing on Mt Pirongia, LandSAR and The New Zealand Police searched for him for several months, unfortunately he had passed away before he was found, but my family is very grateful to the people that searched even when we knew there was no chance of finding him alive. This year the Rotorua Marathon is on 17th September, Richard's birthday, so I am running to raise money to support LandSAR and to thank them for helping my family. LandSAR is a free service 24/7, 365 days a year for everyone in New Zealand.

Well I am very glad that is finished, it was a beautiful day in Rotorua, not too hot and hardly any wind, perfect weather for a run around the lake! Completed it in 5hrs 28mins and 39secs I'm happy with that. Donations for LandSAR are at $1650 so I am so very grateful to all of you that have donated to this fantastic organisation. If you haven't donated and would like to this page is open until 24th September. Last but not least Happy Birthday to my little brother who would have been 48 yesterday, you are often in my thoughts and hold a special place in my heart, you are missed xx
