Fundraising for the I Am Hope Foundation
Auckland
Last February, I had the crazy idea to run for 24 hours around a 600-meter block near my flat in Sydney. Through the generosity of many kind donors, I was able to raise just under $2,400 for the incredible I Am Hope charity in New Zealand, supporting their work to break the stigma surrounding youth mental health. Through providing free counselling for young people and fostering open conversations, I Am Hope is helping to create a healthier future for rangatahi across Aotearoa.
The challenge proved to be incredibly hard (both mentally and physically), but it became one of the most rewarding experiences for myself in 2025. Being able to channel my passion for ultra-running into something that gives back to the community brought a sense of purpose and fulfillment like no other. As life gets busier, it’s easy to forget how fortunate we are to be mentally and physically healthy. If we are lucky enough to have these gifts, we should pay them forward where we can.
That’s why I’m bringing back the block run - this time longer and harder than before. On 1 April, I’ll be running for 48 hours around a 4.5 km loop near my flat in Sydney, aiming to raise $4,800 for I Am Hope. Any donation, big or small, would be deeply appreciated. If donating isn’t possible, sharing the fundraiser with your network would mean the world.
Together, we can help ensure more young people receive the support they need, when they need it most.
