I will be walking 50 km over Dunedin's hills to raise funds and awareness for the Otago Community Hospice and the work that they do.
Otago
Hospice care is something that none of us want to think about needing, but it is a very real possibility that many of us will encounter it at some stage. The Otago Community Hospice works tirelessly to provide care for the dying and their families in the environment that they wish to be in - and for many people that is their home.
They are able to deliver a high level of care to people at home all around Otago thanks to the fundraising done to support them, and I would like to be part of that.
My wonderful mother Annie will be joining me on this fundraising journey and we decided that to support the Otago Community Hospice we would do a walk totalling 50 km - all done in one day of course!
This way I will be able to hopefully gain support and funds, while also raising awareness about the how far the care provided by the Hospice reaches.
We will be walking from the Forsyth Barr Stadium, over the hills to Aramoana, and then back into town again on May 2nd starting at 6am and walking till we get back to the stadium.
Please donate if you can, every little bit helps!
I am fundraising for the Otago Community Hospice because I believe that it is such a precious resource and needs to be treated as such. I am raising money and awareness for my local Hospice and the work they do to ensure you can be comfortable in your own home as long as possible.
