538 for Mental Health. A football match to start a conversation for a better future.

Huapai, Kumeu

"Normalising Mental Health, It’s just a conversation" ... I Am Hope.

At West Coast Rangers FC we wanted to start the conversation about our mental health and that as a football club, a community, an extended family, we understand that everyone is vulnerable to the pressures of modern life.

To give our community a chance to have some Football n Chats, we are running an open to all, non stop football game of 538 minutes, with a continuous live stream podcast of interviews and discussions with some great New Zealanders.

538 is the number of NZers that have been lost to mental health and suicide over the past 12 months - 1min of football per life lost.

All funds raised will go to I Am Hopes' Gumboot Friday to help with the amazing work they do in supporting our NZ Community in need and helping our youth find their voice.

We all know someone who has been affected by Mental Health and by just starting the conversation we can create a better future for everyone.
