Completing 538kms for 538 lives lost in 2022. Giving our tamariki the best shot to live a happy life

Papamoa Beach, Papamoa

In 2022, statistics NZ show 538 people took their own lives. We believe that is 538 people too many.

This year for Gumboot Friday we are going to continue to raise awareness and help prevent suicide, so with that being said, we be completing 538 kilometres (1 km for 1 person who took their own lives) as a community on gym erg machines while raising awareness and monies for Mike King’s Charity Gumboot Friday. Over the last four years we have raised over $20000 doing various fitness challenges including paddle boarding Lake Taupo and walking 50km in Gumboots while wearing a weighted vest to help promote awareness around suicide and the options that are out in the community to get help.

If you are in a position to donate to a good cause and help our tamariki get the free counselling through Gumboot Friday that would be much appreciated.
