Walking Te Araroa for Blue Light

$3,052 donated
Given by 58 generous donors in around 3 months

From 1st November I will be walking 3000 kilometres to raise awareness and funds to support kids in Aotearoa through the charity Blue Light

Nationwide

I left Cape Reinga heading South on 1st November 2019 with the aim of covering 3000k’s to Bluff, the full length of Aoteroa along the Te Araroa trail. Encouraging students from Bluelight New Zealand to come along and participate in the event.

With a little help and luck I want to give an opportunity to allow our youth of today to strive to do more for themselves and give them the confidence needed to step forward into their future with a can-do attitude.

The aim is to raise money through donations over the event to put back into the Bluelight youth program. I past halfway just after the New Year. Currently (as at 14/01/2020) I am heading into the Richmond Ranges in the South Island.

Jumping backwards   5 February 2020

Hi all, a massive thank you to all who have donated so far 👍🏼 Blue Light do a phenomenal job at empowering our youth and building that connection between them, NZ Police, communities and family/Whanau

I’m in Wanaka staying with family today, moved forward to walk backwards, not literally! 🤣 just a little detour to miss some weather.

Thanks heaps for all of the support and words of encouragement on this page and the Facebook page Gaz and Toddy do Te Araroa. The likes, comments and enthusiasm from you all is what helps me get through each day when I’m missing home and the family so much 😢

I won’t let you all and Blue Light down, only another 4 and a bit weeks left! Thanks again, Gazza
