Blue Light is a charity organisation that works in partnership with the NZ Police to deliver a multitude of youth programs nationally
Nationwide
If you’re old enough to remember Blue Light discos from back at school, then you’ll realise that we’ve been around helping kiwi kids for a while now. While those legendary discos still operate, Blue Light has evolved into a far bigger organisation that offers the youth of Aotearoa unwavering support and amazing opportunities to reach their full potential. We achieve this by organising and running a variety of practical supervised programmes targeting: youth at risk, life-skills, crime reduction, and cultural, social, sporting and educational activities in a positive and supportive environment free from alcohol, drugs and violence.
Our goals are to:
• Reduce the incidence of young people becoming an offender or victim of crime.
• Encourage better relations between the police, young people, their parents and the community.
We aim to:
• Reducing youth crime through prevention
• Partnering with communities
• Empowering young people to reach their potential
• Delivering Social Services in the community on behalf of the government
• Enhance community safety and build positive relationships between the police, young people, their whanau and their community
• Support and grow Blue Light branches throughout the country
