Please help support these local organisations so they can continue to support our community - without your help, they'll struggle to help.
Canterbury
My first Charity Bike Ride in 2008 was just for fun - little did I know we'd need the help and support of some of our local charities just a short time later. After a few years off, I'm back on the bike and raising money to support eight organisations that give so much to the South Canterbury community. So who am I riding for?
Hospice South Canterbury, who offer care and support for people with life-limiting conditions, and their families.
Life Education Trust teaches kids how to be a good friend, to keep safe and keep healthy, travelling the region so barriers to learning are reduced.
Pinc and Steel are also recipients for 2020 - your donation will help fund rehabilitation for cancer survivors in the region.
The next group to benefit from your generosity are Plunket - all of born in New Zealand are probably Plunket babies, and I want to make sure this opportunity is offered to all families in the area.
The local branch of Cystic Fibrosis Canterbury also need your help - they offer practical support to help people with CF to maintain optimal lunch function and get the most out of life.
Your donations will also help the Hearing Association support those with hearing loss by funding their rooms - this would allow a Monday to Friday service for the area.
YMCA work to increase resilience in young people - this helps them stay well, learn new skills and be ready for employment. Your donation will go towards the operational costs of providing this service to young people in our region.
Last, but not least, the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society need your help as they work to provide support, education and advocacy for people with MS and their families.
Every one of these organisations is worthy of our help - please give as generously as you can. You can be sure that anything you give will be used with great care and dedication to the South Canterbury community.
Thank you.
I'm riding to help raise money for local charities that provide valuable services in the South Canterbury area.
We made it! 16 February 2020
Thank you so much for your donations - we've now finished the ride and raised over $100,000 for our eight charities. We know that some of you might have been busy or missed an earlier post, so I've extended the closing date for donations through this page - we'd love to have any money you can spare. Every dollar raised goes straight to the charities - not a cent is used for expenses, so it all comes back to the community. Thanks again xx
Thanks so much for your support - this generous donation and all your cheering along the way! Smiles and waves are great for cyclist's legs! xx
Thanks you so much for your donation - it will help our charities support our community :-)
Thanks Beans! Mucho gracias :-)
Thank you so much for your very generous donation - perhaps we can talk you into doing the ride next year! (You'd love it :-))
We miss you too! Every time I head out for a ride I think of some of your epic fundraisers! Thank you so much xxx
