A safe home for Toblerone (Toby)

This beautiful boy was just hours away from being put to sleep. Ellie’s Canine Rescue stepped in at the last minute & now we’re raising money for his desexing, vaccinations & foster care while we find him the safe forever home he deserves.

Meet Toblerone (Toby). A few weeks ago I almost hit this guy on the motorway between Featherston and Martinborough. I stopped & called him over and he jumped straight into my car.

I tried everywhere to find his owners but had no luck. I couldn’t take him myself and couldn’t leave him there, so I had no choice but to drop him off to the local dog ranger.

3 weeks later I got a call to say no owner or rescue had been found (I do know they tried their best) & Toby was due to be put down in 48 hrs. The pound couldn’t release him to me without a registered rescue involved, so I got to work. The night before he was booked, Ellie’s stepped in. Without them, and wonderful Neve who agreed to foster him, Toby wouldn’t be here today. Ellie's is stretched financially, so I'm raising the money for his desexing & vax + helping find his person.

He greets everyone with a wagging tail & wriggly bum & just wants to be around people. He’ll be someone’s best mate, shadow, snuggle buddy and bodyguard. He looks tough but he is soft and affectionate and loves to smooch.
