Sunrise Walk for Hospice - Sunday 3rd April 2016

Sunrise Walk is all about celebrating life and remembering those we love. We are taking part in a 5km walk in the Botanic Gardens to help our local hospice carry on providing their expert care to both patients and their families.

We have also registered as Hospice Sunrise Angels – this means we have committed to fundraising a minimum of $500 to help Totara Hospice in Manurewa. Please help us smash the target and give a little or a lot - every bit helps!

Sarah volunteers in the IPU at Totara Hospice and has seen the work that the nurses do and how so many people give up their own time to support this worthwhile organisation.

Well this is just crazy - we can't believe this much money has been raised for the hospice in just one day - thank you so much everyone for your kind donations! I was worried we weren't going to make the $500 target with a month to go... I take it all back by the way - Team Cow-Tippers at Fonterra are smashing the School of Nursing at UoA by a mile, you generous lot! I'm getting a donation bucket to shake at people at work next week though so that should even the odds a bit...

We are grateful for ALL donations whether big or small - but I would like to briefly mention the anonymous $100 donation made yesterday morning from Auckland - it is a real mystery to us and I would just like to thank whoever it was who was so incredibly generous. I wish I could thank you all in person - it really is a great cause as you say and we are very grateful to all of you for raising all this money to help support Totara Hospice.

On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform.
