Help raise money for Bangladesh, and help me create 40 posters for Nepal

Auckland

This year I am doing World Visions 40 Hour Famine, but instead of going for 40 hours without food or technology, I decided to do something slightly different. This year World Vision is raising money to help the children and their communities in Bangladesh, as there is nearly 8 million children that are malnourished over there, which is almost the highest in the world. With the money raised here they will help those that are most vulnerable now and in the long term will be teaching families how to grow veggies, and improving access to health and nutrition services. Instead of going without something this year I am going to use my weekends to do something for the kids in Nepal as well as those in Bangladesh. Luckily, my mother works at Childfund, and they have a project going on at the moment that sets up temporary school classrooms for those whose schools have been ruined by the earthquakes. I wanted the kids to have something to brighten up their classrooms, or have something that would show them that they are not alone in their time of need, so I will be creating 40 posters for the 40 classrooms that Childfund are creating. As it is near monsoon season, I was advised that something that was too big, heavy or a burden for them to maintain would not be ideal, so I went for simple, but hopefully uplifting. A friend and I are going to create scenes that incorporate Nepal into New Zealand life, take photos, get them printed about A4 and put a little pre-translated message onto the bottom that reads 'Children of New Zealand are always with you'. Some of these photos would be of a beach with a note in the sand, or children at school around a Nepalese flag. It would be amazing if you could donate even $2 to help, even the smallest amount will go a long way for the children of Bangladesh, and have me create all these posters. Thank you so much

I'm involved because the 40 Hour Famine if a great annual fundraising challenge that gets school kids involved in understanding the situations of third world countries and the underprivileged communities in the world. It also helps those who we are fundraising for directly.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
