Auckland & Wellington Round the Bays group run for Mary Potter Hospice in memory of Gordon Copeland

Auckland

In October last year, my grandfather was diagnosed with cancer, his health quickly deteriorated and within a month our family ended up using the Mary Potter Hospice service in his final days. They provide specialist care to people living with a terminal illness, and giving their families the support they need. Their work and support of our family and other families brings a great deal of comfort in an otherwise very difficult time.

After every dinner with Grandad you could almost count on him inviting you to take a long walk with him around the bays and beaches of Wellington. His long strides usually meant you added a slight jog to your steps to keep up. Last year he completed the Wellington Round the Bays with the family and so it feels right to do the same again this year in Wellington & Auckland.

A group of us will be running and I’d love for you to donate to Mary Potter Hospice, so other families like my own can continue to use their invaluable services during very stressful and sad times.
