Auckland Marathon in support of Crohn's and Colitis NZ
Fundraising for Crohn's and Colitis New Zealand Charitable Trust

It is about a year ago when my daughter Alice started feeling unwell. It took us a few weeks with visits to the GP and tests, and at the beginning of December she was diagnosed with Crohn's.
The months that followed were difficult, trialing treatments that didn't seem to have an effect and a small operation.
Thankfully in April she was put on Infliximab, an IV medication and that seems to have stabilised things. Since then she has been going to Starship every 6 weeks for her infusion, and her blood results and other tests are now back to normal.
Crohn's and Colitis New Zealand is a charitable trust which aims to provide support, advice, resources and information about Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and of course organizes Camp Purple, a summer camp for young people with Crohn's disease, something that Alice is looking forward to.
As for me, after running 4 half-marathons, I felt it was a good time to try a full one. And of course, I am sure that running for a good cause will help in the last few km!
