A $20 donation towards Women's Refuge buys a "safe night" room for a woman and her children to escape violence. This is the same cost of a week's worth of takeaway coffee in Auckland.

New Zealand continues to have the highest rate of Family Violence in the developed world. Women abused by partners are more at risk during Covid-19 lockdowns. There was a 35% increase in demand on Women's Refuge last year and a spike in cases at the end of the March 2020 lockdown. They are worried it could happen again in Auckland.
