Raising funds for GAP to pay for Alfie's $5000 leg surgery, helping him find his forever home.
Auckland
I signed up to foster a lovely greyhound, Alfie during lockdown. He was just about to head to his forever home when he stepped into a rabbit hole and dislocated his hock causing a hairline fracture. He has had surgery and is now recovering with us which is great as he's an awesome dog!
GAP have to fund his vet bill which has so far totalled $5000. They are an incredible charity who bring joy to so many hounds and humans and I want to help them out as this bill is not a budgeted expense and will impact their ability to rehome more dogs.
I'm raising funds to cover the cost of my foster dog, Alfie's leg surgery which GAP will have to pay.
Thank You Hoomans From Alfie 26 June 2020
Hi there and thank you for donating to Alfie's page.
It's made a huge difference to us as his foster carers and to Greyhounds As Pets who have had to foot the bills. Alfie is still seeing the vet regularly to track his recovery so your donations have truly helped.
The official diagnosis is that he's doing great and the vet says he's walking really well now with only an occasional limp. Alfie can manage a 20 minute walk daily and the vet Leanne will reassess him and make plans for physio at the next appointment on 10th July.
Your support is helping fund Alfie's recovery and therapy so if you'd like to share this update with other greyhound lovers who'd like to support Alfie that would be great!
Huge thanks,
Blair and Katie Ruthurfurd
