Greyhounds As Pets (GAP) is a NZ charity that finds loving homes for retired greyhounds. Please help us with a donation to continue our work
AucklandGreyhounds As Pets (GAP) is a national charity rehoming greyhounds that are no longer suitable for racing. Calm and affectionate, greyhounds make great pets for most households including those who live in smaller homes. Your donation funds our rehoming programme including post-adoption advice and support for the lifetime of a pet greyhound.
At GAP we either rehome hounds straight from the three Greyhound Racing NZ kennels (located in Cambridge, Levin, and Rangiora) or we rehome from our nationwide network of volunteer foster homes. Our foster carers gradually introduce the hounds to the big wide world one paw at a time and give them a head start learning what pet life is all about.

More about us
GAP is a national charity rehoming greyhounds which are no longer suitable for racing.
The adoption programme operates through kennel bases near Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, where all our greyhounds are assessed, de-sexed and individually matched to their new homes.
We also have a great team of foster carers who help the dogs adjust to the home environment and groups of supporters all over NZ who get together to promote greyhounds and enjoy their dogs.
