Bayleys Queenstown Marathon for Make-A-Wish NZ

Bayleys philosophy of Altogether Better means that we have a culture of togetherness and of connectedness. It started with Pam, Graham, and John in 1973, and it still lives on today. We’re a family business at heart and we see our customers as part of our family. We’re in most towns across New Zealand connecting with locals everyday and we’re actively involved and immersed in our communities. Communities are the lifeblood of New Zealand and at Bayleys we are proud supporters of many local schools, sports teams, arts and music and not-for-profit organisations across the country. It is a strong part of our culture and values, it’s what we do.

So to celebrate our Altogether Better philosophy and community focus, the Bayleys team in the lower South Island are getting together to support our partnered charity, Make-A-Wish NZ, who make wishes come true for Kiwi kids between 3 and 17 years old with a life-threatening medical condition.

One of our favorite 'Wish' stories was about 5 year old Jaxon. "Jaxon, who has a Wilms tumour, wanted to be just like his parents and learn how to ski! Queenstown has the best snow New Zealand has to offer, so we sent Jaxon there on a holiday to stay at Jewel on Speargrass. Jaxon spent two days learning how to ski at Coronet Peak and he loved it so much that he went for a third day at Treble Cone! Jaxon is a true little legend and is now a pro on the snow!! During their time in Queenstown, Jaxon also had a blast at the Shotover Jet and saw some spectacular views during an alpine scenic helicopter flight. We’ve been told that Jaxon can’t stop talking about his trip and that he will remember it for a life time!"

Our Bayleys team will be running the Cigna 10km in the Queenstown Marathon on the 17th of November 2018. As well as raising funds for an amazing charity - this is also an opportunity for our team from the Lower South Island to all come together and have some fun. After all, we are 'Altogether Better'.
