Through the Bayleys Foundation the 'Bayleys Babes' are walking to raise funds for Make-A-Wish New Zealand.
Bay of Plenty
Here at Bayleys Tauranga we have pledged to each walk a minimum of 10,000 steps per day for the entire month of November, raising funds for Make-A-Wish NZ who help make wishes come true for young people with life-threatening medical conditions.
To increase competition, we have split in to two teams with a race to gain maximum steps and donations by November 30.
If you would like to support us, please donate through this Givealittle page.
As part of Bayleys' culture and team building ethos we love to give back to the communities we work in and make a difference!
Bayleys Foundation is proud to be the Elite Sponsorship Partner for Make-A-Wish New Zealand, helping to make wishes come true for young people from three years to 17 years with life threatening medical conditions.
Our team is working with the Make-A-Wish New Zealand team to raise funds to grant meaningful wishes to kids giving them hope, strength and joy at a very difficult time in their lives.
Currently there are 400 eligible children diagnosed every year a life threatening medical condition, of which, Make-A-Wish NZ have been able to grant 200 of these wishes, across the length and breadth of the country. The Bayleys Foundation goal, along with Make-A-Wish NZ is to be able to grant every eligible child’s one true wish.
Week two and over 2 million steps for the week! 14 November 2017
Wow, what a great week it has been in many respects. We have had a couple of new team members join us and a couple drop out. The original walking goal was to walk 10,000 steps on average per day but what has actually happened is that the guys and girls are well and truly exceeding that and on average we are walking 14,500 per day - 23 people - that's a lot of steps and as a result we cracked 2 million steps this week! An outstanding effort by all. Our top walker and total legend this week is Kirsty Cashmore closely followed by Dickie Burman. Both of these two averaged over 20,000 steps per day. When you stop and think that Kirsty has three young kids, it is probably no wonder she is always on her toes! On the donation front we have also hit the $4000 mark at given we are one day off halfway, that is outstanding! Thanks to all who have donated. Your support is brilliant and appreciated!
Once again we had a couple of fit bit issues with one person who shall remain nameless, running over hers with 30,000 steps on the clock!! She well and truly made up for it though!
Remember, look out for our "Make A Wish" tee shirts and if you see us on the streets, give us a toot out!!
Thanks again for your support!
