Join me as I "bike Bathurst" in October. I'm doing this to raise money for and raise awareness of the amazing organisation - Barnardos.

Hi! I'm Bex and I've decided to bike (on an exercise bike) for the duration of the Supercars Bathurst race on the 18th of October. I'm doing this to raise money for and raise awareness of the amazing organisation - Barnardos.
I have recently changed my future moving out of teaching and into school chaplaincy. I have a passion for making a difference in the area of mental health. Having struggled with my own mental health issues for many years, I know a bit about what it is like to live it and live through it.
I have spent the last 3 years creating teaching resources and, most recently, resources in the area of resilience and jumping life's obstacles. Through these resources I became connected with Barnardos.
I came to realise just how much Barnardos does. The programs they run, services they provide, the social work and early childhood side, and all done to help build a better future for our children.
They are the front line! They are doing the hard mahi! They are changing children, families and communities. And... they are a charity! Relying on donations to stay afloat.
When I first thought about the idea of biking Bathurst, I knew it would be a fundraiser for something to do with mental health.
I have chosen Barnardos becoz I love what they do and I want to support them.
So please take some time to check out their website. Follow me on my journey through Instagram or Facebook (search Bex Teaching Resources) as I train and then bike Bathurst in October. And mostly - please donate!

“Barnardos shapes brighter futures for children and families in Aotearoa, by working with them to build resilient and nurturing homes and communities. Barnardos’ mahi across social services, early learning services, and advocacy for children’s rights and wellbeing contributes to their vision of ‘an Aotearoa where every child shines bright’. Every day, they’re making a positive, long-lasting difference to children's lives."

As a school chaplain I have come to realise just how much Barnardos does within our communities. They are at the front line helping our children and families. I would like to use this fundraiser to raise money as well as awareness of all they do.
