    Who would have thought not only did we finish however, we finished in 2 hours 13 minutes. I came 12 th in my category and Andrew came 18th..

    Thank you all so much for your generous donations. We cycled this morning for a few kilometres along the lake before we headed back to Auckland in torrential rain.

    Thank you to Don, Lisa Kathryn and Steve for joining us . Your kindness holds no bounds.

  • Let The fun begin

    We have safely arrived in Taupo and collected our numbers for tomorrow.

    We arrived to not just rain but hailstones, however, now it’s beautiful sunshine..

    The bikes have been taken to the start line so now there is no turning back…

    Thank you to everyone who has sponsored us we and Headway Auckland are very grateful 🥹

    We are off to explore Taupo..

  • Final week preparation

    So last weekend we had a weekend away to Leigh. What a fabulous little place with only 606 residents a little different from my hometown of Leigh that has over 41 thousand..

    Our friends Lisa and Don came for a bike ride and we are sure looking forward to being able to cycle to puhoi.

    We were mainly cycling on the flat with just the odd small hill thrown in..

    But we certainly had some fun doing it..

    Roll on the drive down Friday …to hand the bikes over to be taken to the start then keep your fingers and toes crossed for us…

  • Training

    So training is going well. We have ridden from Gulf Harbour to Orewa and decided let’s load the bikes on the car and head for the hills. We found some hills between Mangawhai and Waipu.. oh my there was some hills but what a great ride that was with friends.

    A couple of weeks later we headed to Rotorua and the Redwoods beckoned. What a great place to ride a bike and brilliant experience..so many people on bikes ..

    So where’s next …. Maybe Waikato.. watch this space
