Billy has been growing his hair for three years for charity - please support him!
Wellington
A while ago Billy read about a young man who grew his hair long to donate for wig-making. This inspired Billy to have a go at growing his.
Three and a half years, many bottles of conditioner and hundreds of tangle teaser sessions later it's finally long enough to donate. The hair will go to an organisation that creates wigs for people with alopecia, cancer-related baldness and other hair loss.
Billy is keen to back up his donation with a bit of financial support for some charities that are connected to his hair-growing journey. Firstly, the Child Cancer Foundation who support children and their families on their cancer journey. Secondly, to Rainbow Youth. Billy has discovered that he has been treated differently simply because of the length of his hair and it has made him think about other kids that have to deal with people treating them differently. Rainbow Youth provide support, information and resources to help Rainbow kids thrive.
Haircut! 28 October 2023
Wow! what an amazing response Billy has received. It has been quite overwhelming and Billy is absolutely stoked with the response. He's also very impressed with his new haircut from the amazing folks at Blowup Hairdressing in Wellington. His hair is all bagged up and ready to send to Freedom Wigs so it won't be long until his donation will help someone out.
A massive thanks to all of you for being part of this journey and for your donations. Child Cancer Foundation and Rainbow Youth will appreciate your generosity.
Ngā mihi nui!
