“We Love Dogs” believe that dogs can provide benefits to the physical and mental health of everyone in the community.
It doesn't mean that everyone has to own one, but we aim to try and give access to everyone who needs some doggy love and, in return, have lots of very loved dogs.
They have several programs that will be rolling out over the next few months.
"Enhancing the lives of dogs, their owners, and the community."
The focus for the remainder of 2020, is to establish two monthly Barkets as a regular dog community fundraising event and implement parts of the K9 company program for the elderly and the Reading to Dogs program for children.
Some other priorities for them this year:
🐶run a desexing campaign
🐶strengthen relationship with local district councils via their Jaxx Project - a project that gets dogs out of the pound rehabilitates them and finds them their best forever homes.
🐶helping take on dogs that have been surrendered to them from owners who can no longer keep their dogs.
Just like the Jaxx project rehabilitation process, this includes getting the doggies desexed, vaccinated, and, if necessary, into some training classes
🐶develop our team of valuable volunteers & foster carers so they can make these programs work.
Where do your contributions go?
Your donations will directly help dogs. When they take a dog on, they often need to pay for vaccinations, health checks, desexing, pound fees, food, behavior assessments, training, and sometimes kennel fees. They want to give each dog the best possible chance of finding the right forever home, and this means putting the hard work in during the time they are with the Trust.
As well as helping dogs that have been surrendered to the Trust, they want to help dogs and their owners in the community that are doing it tough. Whether it be to help fund a training course or supporting a desex and chip campaign, they all benefit the wider community and result in responsible and positive dog ownership.
They also need to fundraise for their foster carers and volunteers for fuel vouchers so that they are not out of pocket when they help.
