Participating in Clash for Construction 2024- Auckland

Auckland

I am stepping well out of my comfort zone and competing in the Clash for Construction 2024 because I want to make a difference in the lives of my fellow tradies.

Nearly every week, the construction industry loses one of its own to suicide, and this has to stop. By putting on the gloves and stepping into the ring, I'm fighting for a cause that’s close to my heart. All the funds raised from this event go directly to 'Mates in Construction,' a charity dedicated to preventing suicides and supporting mental health in the construction community.

Auckland Inground Pools have formed a partnership with MATES, whose programs provide our team with the tools to enable them to identify the signs and have the tough conversations with their MATES when they notice if someone may not be travelling well.

Suicide is preventable and workplace focused programs have been found to be effective interventions - raising funds and awareness for MATES is important to ensure help remains available to anyone in the construction industry who may need support.

This is more than just a boxing match; it's a chance to raise awareness and provide crucial support for those who need it most.

Help the Blue Team out and support me with a donation of any amount - and mark Saturday 28th September for the Auckland Clash in your calendar (location TBC)
