Running 200km in the Gumboots, from Marton to New Plymouth for Gumboot Friday.

Marton, Manawatu-Wanganui

Thanks everyone who supported me + Gumboot Friday last year, in doing a 160km run in the gummies, to Paraparaumu.

This year, for this undeniably worthy cause, we are dusting the gummies off and running to the Naki. 👢

This cause is within a fingernail length reach from me and I know the importance of our young people, needing support with mental health. Gumboot Friday provides free counseling for our rangatahi aged 5-25.

I will have my son, whānau, friends and whānau I've lost, my extended tamariki and wider whānau in my thoughts, the whole 200+KM to New Plymouth.

Donate, share or leave some love... 🫶🏽

All for our young people. All the way, all in.

617 deaths by suicide last year. 617 too many!

208km IN 21 HOURS   12 November 2025

I want to start by saying a HUGE, ngā mihi 🩵 I am extremely humbled to read everyones kind words and see the importance of support for mental health for so many.

I ran 208km, from my home in Marton to Awanui Cemetery New Plymouth.. in 21 hours!

I could not have done this without my partner Sam, who did not want to change support cars and go home for a sleep.. but stayed the whole entire time with me driving alongside, keeping me safe from traffic and yelling words of encouragment. My inlaws who travelled with our son to finish with me was the icing on the cake. I am beyond grateful for the toots and mana waves along the way, every single support system at home including the kura’s who put on a fundraising day. Every one of you who donated! I did not do it alone, I had love surrounding me every second.

To say i was happy to reach my destination is far from it… my friend, my Hunter was not meant to leave this world at 14 years old. He was not meant to leave in the way he did, he deserved more. Our children deserve more.

I will not stop running my heart out for our babies, our our lost ones and for those struggling.

630 deaths by suicide. More than the year before. 630 deaths too many.

Till next years mission 🔐
