In the Wellington region, women from refugee backgrounds identified obtaining their licence as a number one priority to feel connected and reach their potential.

ChangeMakers is leading a pilot project for 20 women to obtain full driver’s licence.

To do this, we need your support.

Have you ever envisioned yourself in a new country, surrounded by a new language, unknown faces and places? Having left home as a refugee, you encounter a new beginning, full of hope yet surrounded by challenges.

When I first went for my licence they failed me the first two times. I'm very grateful for that, because my driving was terrible in those days and I needed to improve!
