Help me support the Malcam Charitable Trust in Toss the Boss 2017
Otago
Not long after completing my Engineering degree at Canterbury University I moved south and spent my early career working on Manapouri, Clyde and Roxburgh Power stations. That was followed by a small stint in Dunedin and Wellington working as an Energy consultant before coming back to the South Island and discovering the world of IT with Meridian Energy based in Christchurch. The call of the South was strong and I’ve been living in Dunedin since 2003 first working with Ian Taylor and his awesome crew at Animation Research and for the last six years at Intergen where I am currently Practice Manager for the South Island. At Intergen I’m privileged to be leading a team of amazing consultants and developers, delivering business solutions - based on Microsoft technologies - to enterprises throughout the South Island and I’m loving it!
I’m passionate about encouraging others to consider a career in Digital Tech with a specific passion around increasing the number of girls pursuing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) – of course having an engineering degree and now working in IT I can talk from the heart about this stuff. I’m an absolute raving fan of Malcam Trust’s hive initiative!!
Home is a (no)lifestyle block above Carey’s Bay shared with my partner and our two primary school aged boys plus a couple of chooks and two fire-bellied newts! We love being close to Orokanui Ecosanctuary (and the northern beaches) and have planted many natives in our large garden to encourage birds. Walking, going to the gym and some social biking and swimming keeps me fit. Leisure time (does anyone really have leisure time??) is spent engaging in the boys activities, reading, gardening and fishing for trout, along with catching up with friends - ideally over a curry - whenever possible.
Support me to abseil the stadium in Toss the Boss 2017 by donating now!
I'll be abseiling from the roof of Forsyth Barr Stadium 35 metres to the pitch below, fundraising for the Malcam Charitable Trust. All funds raised will go towards providing the youth of Otago experiences that enable them to discover who they are, and where they fit in.
Support our brave bosses as they put it on the line for the Malcam Charitable Trust
Thanks so much - it was challenging I can assure you!
Thanks for your very generous donation Stewart - you've got me past the $2,000 mark which is truly humbling!
Thanks Hamish! Got to do something mad to maintain sanity!
